​At CaraFlow, we work with over 650 hospitals across the country on streamlining workflow. Departments that collect these forms—like employee health—will often have just one fax machine. Collecting forms from a hospital full of employees becomes like pouring too much water through a funnel. Huge backlogs accumulate on the machine and the administrative task of sifting through all the paper increases in difficulty. Email can ease the burden slightly, but complications persist. Since the questionnaires must be filed and accessible, each individual email presents an additional task. The file must be manually renamed and saved, meaning department staff have to spend hours or days on this repetitive process. Finally, staff members must access individual records within electronic medical records to manually answer any required questions based on the questionnaire.
