​IT involvement is vital to a successful purchase of QYK. Security reviews, technical discussions and detailed planning are all necessary steps toward final approval by leadership. At CaraFlow, it’s my job to help customers alleviate the pain associated with inefficient workflow. I spend a lot of time learning about my clients’ challenges and educating them on the solutions we provide. Many of my prospective customers realize the value in our QYK solutions. They see how QYK can replace paper and manual data entry—they see an end to their pain! Even still, so many of my clients fail to see a successful purchase go through. Why? Because the right people were brought into the conversation too late.

It’s no secret that change is difficult—particularly within a bureaucratic organization like a hospital. Numerous checks and balances stand in the way of process changes. Even if a better solution to a problem exists (like QYK), actors within the hospital may oppose it. This could be an attempt to avoid doing extra work. More likely, though, it stems from a lack of understanding.

Getting IT involved in the conversation early and often will help you stimulate change within your hospital. Many clients of mine had high hopes that their budget request would be approved only to find it rejected by their IT leadership. If those IT contacts had been included in meetings with CaraFlow in advance of the budget deadline, they would have better understood the request.
