“This is our second year at GUH with a Mandatory Influenza Program for all staff, volunteers, vendors and students. Flu season 2009 could be described as chaos with consent forms missing and continuous paper trail. I vowed not be involved in such madness ever again and was happy to learn of a more efficient cost effective way for flu season 2010.
The 2010 process has been much smoother in comparison to 2009 (with Vac-Seen). In cost savings, we used two agency support staff to help with sorting the consents for flu season 2009. This year we did not have a need for that type of help as we reduced our paper handling and filing by more than 80%. It was much easier to upload the scanners which take only a few minutes to complete and have accurate numbers rather than counting consent forms. I am looking forward to using the scanners again for 2011 flu season.”

“This year, with the help of the Vac-Seen (scanner), we were able to administer 14,000 vaccines in just six weeks. The Vac-Seen (scanner) contributed to the tremendous success of our campaign by automating much of the process for our Employee Health nurses, who were able to quickly scan employee ID badges and auto-fill required information such as the vaccine lot number and expiration date.
The Vac-Seen (scanner) helped us maintain accurate data and track the 14,000 consent forms we received. We are excited to have been able to use the Vac-Seen (scanner), and we recommend it to other healthcare facilities."

"By far, the scanner was faster and more efficient in capturing all the essential details of an encounter. This has been very valuable piece of equipment for us. Not only are we seeing employees and volunteers in our clinic, but we also see patients and their household contacts for flu vaccine. We have had a total volume of over 7000 people in two months! Without the Vac Seen scanner, our productivity and cycle times would be much longer. It’s been great to be able to search the csv file and generate reports of all kinds. I thought I would share with you some of the comments from the hospital employees that our flu room staff have heard over the course of the campaign;
“….fancy, high tech, cool, slick…” “…oh great! You’re saving paper!” “This is fast and efficient. I’d like to use this for charting, what else can it do?”
Thank you for a great product!"

“Up until now, our compliance tracking process had been completely paper based, and required manual data entry. (With Vac-Seen) not only is the vaccine administration event itself expedited, but we are also improving vaccination compliance due to the fact that we are not dealing with lost or incomplete paper forms, illegible writing, etc. The program allows us to improve the experience for our employees receiving as well as those employees providing the service. It’s a time saver in all ways, so it’s a win/win for everyone!”
